Ganja has long been an intrinsic part of Jamaican culture, yet it’s been illegal in the Caribbean country for over a hundred years. This is largely due to international treaties preventing the country from cultivating and selling cannabis. Now, in the wake of victories for legalization movements in the US and Uruguay, things seem set to change—a motion was presented to the Jamaican parliament last October to legalize pot for personal, medical and religious purposes. But even Bob Marley’s birthplace must overcome a whole lot of bureaucracy first. This film tells the story.
