The harm reduction movement, which uses practical strategies to keep people who use drugs safer while respecting their right to make their own choices, is flourishing in 2015. Related policy developments in the US include the widespread passage of overdose prevention and syringe decriminalization laws, and expanded access to the overdose reversal drug naloxone.

Substance.com is co-hosting a Twitter Chat with HAMS, the harm reduction for alcohol network run by our frequent contributor Kenneth Anderson, to discuss harm reduction in action and the exciting possibilities ahead.

The event takes place on Tuesday, January 20 at 3 pm EST, under the hashtag #harmreduction. Everyone is invited to participate. Just get on Twitter and respond to the questions posed by @Substancedotcom and @Harm_Reduction (if you don’t follow them yet, do it now!), making sure to include #harmreduction in every tweet you send.
